How and What We Exchange?

FORTE Participants share in the results from focused research studies centered around tree growth and the production of a range of forest products.  These results are presented by professionals with a strong background in the forest management and investment fields, capable of working to provide an understanding and application of the findings.  The results also serve as a platform for discussion.  The Exchange Participants include great land managers and forest investors, each of which has his or her own set of experiences and together we can share ideas, past experiences, and next steps.

In October 2018, the FORTE FOREST INVESTMENT blog will begin, offering insight on how to make strong investments in individual management activities with high marginal return, discussing non-conventional management regimes for increased returns, listing comparative growth potential across sites in the SE US, and many other topics relevant to timber investment in the SE US.

Similarly, we will also begin publishing quarterly, FORTE RESEARCH NOTES, for regular updates of study findings from FORTE studies across the SE US forest range and across studies interests.  

FORTE professionals are also available to provide advanced and unique services if beneficial. These services can include research study advice, site selection, presentations to professionals or heirs, genotype specific modeling, among others.  If outside the realm of the cooperative FORTE work, this assistance may be completed through the Center of Forest Research and Applied Management for an additional service cost.  If you have a specific or unique need, please don't hesitate to bring it to our attention for consideration.
